Ichi the Killer, aka Koroshiya 1

Directed by Takashi Miike, based on the manga by Hideo Yamamoto. Released in 2001.

Yakuza boss Anjo disappears with 300 million yen and a girl; his sadomasochistic second-in-command Kakihara is determined to find him. In his pursuit, he becomes inextricably tangled in the perverse plot of the mysterious Jijii and the infamous Ichi, who slays bullies with elite karate and blades in his shoes and jacks off over the massacre while bawling.

And no, for this one, I do not have the credits. The version I have has the credits cut off. Do not ask me about them, because I do not possess them.

  • Kakihara did not die in this movie. His falling was also a part of his fantasy, just like him being cut by Ichi was. If we agree the forehead cut was imaginary, then how could Jiji know about it? The whole scene is in his head. The final shot of him is not in hell, is simply in a bathroom--he is very much alive, but dissapointed because there is no one left to inflict the ultimate pain on him.

  • It was the kid. The cop's kid who was kicking Ichi at the end. If you notice, when the ex-cop bushes the hair away from Kakihara's head, the scar is gone. That means that everything Kakihara saw when he took the needles out of his head was a hallucination. He just threw himself off the ledge. That kid is still alive and that's him at the end...the new Ichi.

  • @fidjibajs1 I may be way off, but my interpretation was that Jiji was Ichi all along. He was only imagining himself to be a cool assassin and when he saw that Kakihara did not have the cut, it finally broke his illusion and he couldn't live with knowing, so he hangs himself. If you notice, there is a cut of Jiji remembering the little kid kicking...how could Jiji remember this unless he was there on the ground in Ichi's place?

  • or maybe kakihara is able regenerate

  • To Understand the movie you have to read the mange here the link for ALL THE MANGA FREE

  • @QuatermassMan But then what the fuck happened to ichi? thats the part i dont get

  • the manga ending is so much better... it tells a complete diffrent story about kakihara in the end. i got nothing against miikes version, he did a great job but the ending was a little bit lame. i like the more twisted version from the manga and sadly i thought miike would be the sick director to bring it on screen.

  • @Brollyhero99TOP10 I read the manga before watching the movie, bro.

  • @TheEvisgod

Ok, well the gore was pretty explicit, but the thing that was the most shocking was just the sheer violence and actions in this movie! Read the manga, and you would probably feel sick....

  • @Brollyhero99TOP10 It's not very gory, in all honesty, compared to some ultra gore stuff from films mainly made for the gore. I just wasn't very amazed by the effects. I still love the movie, though.

  • @TheSynthelle it's supposed to be like that. The blonde guy only imagined that he got cut and fell to his death...did you notice how in the end he was in the bathtub still alive....he was just sad that Ichi didn't kill him
