Annual Canada Day fireworks @ Quidi Vidi Lake in St. John's, Newfoundland (Canada).

I laid the cam on top of my truck in an area others couldn't reach(so I thought!) to prevent unwanted noise capture. However, a few 'SKEETS' found a way in. You can hear them from time to time hawking out spit, cursing etc. As well, the auto focus didnt work too well on a couple (30 second or so) intervals... Might be because the fireworks drowned out the reference (ground based lights) lighting.

I also trimmed the video down below 10 minutes as I don't have a director's account yet!

"Skeets":
Skeets are dudes with peach fuzz mustaches and cheezy rap clothing accompanied by a horrible irish-ebonic-1600's english accent spoken fast as an eminem rap. Come to think of it, just add a cheesy mustache on eminem and you get the picture or take snoop dog, cut his hair a few inches and bleech him out a bit.

They can usually be found by schools, pawn shops, stores that sell single cigarettes etc. :)

  • It is still partially light out when the fireworks usually blast on July 1 each year.

    But where I live, I get a good view of the fireworks on Canada Day and New Year's from my balcony. I tell you, I'm looking forward to seeing fireworks ring in 2010!

  • Skeets:

    Our version of chavs.

  • "light is faster than sound dumbass" - matty12345

    You're the dumbass here. In both of my comments, I was taking that into account, I just wasn't sure how far away the fireworks were, and by the second comment I concluded that they were probably fairly far away. But you couldn't tell that, could you? Idiot.

  • light is faster than sound dumbass

  • Actually, come to think of it, I guess it's pretty obvious from the increasing size of houses as you go down the image that the video was taken from far away; never mind my previous question then...

  • I haven't watched though the whole thing yet, but I notice there is a delay in sound after image. Were the fireworks far away (as in hundreds of metres away) or was the sound not synched with the audio?

  • I live in St.John's yay me!

  • LMAO I love the description u gave of skeets its perfect lmao!!!

  • I missed some of the beginning when I was heading down as I thought they were going to start at 10:00pm as usual so thanks for posting this. The end of the fireworks was weak in my opinion.
