Gameplay of the demo version of Shanghai: Greatest Moments, a puzzle game developed by Quicksilver Software and published by Activision in 1999 for the PC and Macintosh.
I really wanted to show more of the game in this video, but since the game only runs in 256 colors, I had problems capturing the intro animations and the title screen... If someone knows how to make 256 colors captures properly, then just tell me.
The game have four different tile matching games (Classic Shanghai, Beijing, Great Wall and Action Shanghai) all of them uses Mah-Jongg tiles in different easy-to-learn but hard to master solitaire play patterns and a tournament mode.
The full game also features nine interchangeable tile sets, 150 video clips and 300 original animations, three modes of play (Solitaire, 2-Player and Tournament) and actress Rosalind Chao (Joy Luck Club) to provide help and strategy.
I had sent a message to you asking if you knew how to get this to run from the cd and choose the 256, I can't seem to get this to run on vista and it has to be played via the cd. If anyone can help I would be very thankful. I don't think I was able to send you a message due to the friend lock or something. Thanks in advance I have no idea who to ask.

@Pixieydust2 The game runs only on 256 colors, so you have to turn on the option of using 256 colors in the compatibility mode.
About the CD, there's no way of bypassing that if you don't have the original CD. Though the demo version that I've got with a computer magazine years ago, simply required me to select cancel on the "Please insert the Shanghai CD-ROM" message... :P
