  • Have you ever do some real welding. If you want to normaly weld some pieces of metal together, you need at least 200 amp non-chinese mig welder (for example: to properly weld 3mm mild steel, you will need 130-150 amp with 1mm wire). If you are on budget, you have to look for some 20 or 30 years old welders. You can get them for cheap. But those old and big machines will work much better that cheap chinese welders.

  • Harbor freight homo!! : D haha ten times better and works. I can't believe you thought a ebay welder for 150 bucks is going to work.

  • its $220 now :( :(

  • ebay!? are you in aus!? ...........

    i have harbor freight =]

motorcycle frames...... gas tanks..... body work..... turbo manifolds and full exhausts :D ........... im gunna make a 32 ford bidy with it too, now that worries me, but wish me luck :]

  • They have some crazy-expensive welders out there, and then they have the cheap ones, which are very limited. I would only recommend getting an old one for $500 (US) only if you can tell that it wasn't mistreated. I wouldn't rush to buy one if it's rusty or missing knobs.

  • Hi,

I couldnt help but notice that you are from Australia and was wondering that when you bought welding wire for it did you purchase it from a local hardware store or from ebay and if so what type and how much?
