Blue Christmas 2010 is produced by the Calvary Chapel Tucson Grief Support Ministry. This project is the God driven and Holy Spirit led program started by Art Garcia who, himself, lost a son several years ago.
During the holidays it is especially difficult for those who have lost loved ones. Art felt driven by the Holy Spirit to create an outreach for family members to gather, worship the Lord and share, comfort and grieve with others. As someone who lost his first child 2 weeks before Christmas, I too have felt that pain and still do some 35 years later.
When Art asked me to create a presentation for the Blue Christmas 2010 service on Dec 17, 2010, I prayed about it and with the Holy Spirits guidance, this presentation was made. (Some additions have been added since the 12/17/10 service). Family members were invited to submit pictures/bios/obits/Personal messages either by email, in person and at the service. It is our hope and prayer that by viewing this that those family members with loved ones in the video will be comforted. Above all, it is our intention to show that God has prepared a better place for us and our families. (John 14:2)
