Champaign Police Officer abuse local youth with pepper spray. After the youth is in handcuffs in the backseat, the cop then proceeds to choke the youth in a fit of rage.

The pepper spraying was premeditated, it was payback for cursing at him in the crosswalk. At 11:10 officer steps out of his car with pepper spray in hand, showing intent to use. The three were crossing on the red.

@craigslist04 That is no reason to pepper spray him! If a guy attacks then you pepper spray but just because he curses is no excuse. Sorry but I think the police way over reacted here. The most they should have done was handcuffed him and not blinded him with that damn pepper spray. That stuff is dangerous and can cause eye injuries. I know Champaign, IL. I know it well and I know the courts are corrupt as are many of the police. Go check out Lisa Staples on google.

not to mention, as they swooped down on the young man, the officer could be heard humming a tune all of a sudden as if he were about to see his favorite movie. the peper spray was foul, but the choking is what shows that this "arrest" was taken out of control by the officer. not to mention the slick officer who smashed the kid's head into the car and told him to "shut the fuck up"

all these people commenting on here are voicing things they wouldn't say out loud if there was a forum for this. this is definitely a racial issue, If you watch the original video in it's entirety, you'll here the officer mention the group of white kids, but passed them up. the officer was itching to get involved. if the 2 cops who followed behind the young man did not arrest him and he was within their arms reach, why did he feel the need to swoop in?
