@BlightyRenegades How can I tell if my carb can't handle 25:1?
-
the carb will handle 1:25. how about the pistonrings and the crankschaft, and all the internal running pieces? the seagull has no ball bearings, thats why a 1:10 mixture has to be used. The less oil one uses, the better the engine starts and runns, however the shorter its life. Im not convinced by the 1:25 version...
-
isnt that a bit dangerous for the engine?
-
Nice engine. Did you borrow the plank of wood from the dining room table???
-
Good job, it will run at least another 100 years!!!!!!

nice hand-work ;) lol

If you do your homework, you will read on several well informed Seagull sites, that a 25:1 mix is perfectly OK for these engines. For the carbs that wont handle this mix, you can also buy conversion kits (a new needle).

if you have an Amel 2 jet Carb, it should be able to handle a 25/1 mix OK. i have run 3 like it so far.
