I'll set the scene - It's 18th Sept 2001, Letterman's 2nd show back after 9/11. Obviously everyone in the studio is still very upset and shocked... I'm pretty sure Jewel was slated to perform 'Standing Still' which was to be released late 2001. But because of what happened only 1 week before she instead sings the most beautiful and haunting version of 'Hands' i've ever heard. And sorry for the crappy editing at the beginning - it's only the 2nd video i've uploaded.

  • This is not a religious debate. Dang, can't you just enjoy the music without fighting a pointless battle over the INTERNET? Some of you are believers, and some aren't. Who gives a shit what you are? It doesn't matter. Believe what YOU want to believe, and fuck everything else. Damn.

  • @dannigonightnight RIGHT ON!

  • No Jesus, No Hope. Know Jesus, Know Hope.

  • One of the most heart-wrenching, raw performances I have ever seen.

  • So true..even though it was almost 10 years ago, still has a raw feel..

  • @zerocoolct Perhaps it's your understanding of God that is flawed.

  • this is the best live performance I've ever heard... its so true and amazing...God bless September 11, 2001 victims...you will never be forgotten
