  • I do this all the time.

  • @cynical44 It still hasn't sunk in yet that this place is gone. Last time I was in town, I swung in to see what they had for me to pick up. Yes, we spent many a summer in there and they will be sadly missed.

  • Sorry I didn't comment sooner, my damn cellphone won't let me watch your videos! I can view everyone else's videos but yours on my phone! I just don't get it! Anyway glad to see you back dude! I was never a big comic book person, my brother was more into them! Sad to hear that placed closed after 25 years!

  • @Moueska

Additionally, I'm sorry your local comic book store closed. You already know I was all about Borders - it was a fixture in my life for so long, even though it was a "warehouse" store, I felt like I could always go there and be welcomed. When I heard they were filing Chapter 11 reorganization, it was like a punch in the gut.

Also, my local comic book store when I was growing up got me hooked on Manga. I'll never forget it.

  • I heard about the DC reboot, but I don't have enough periphery knowledge to comment on it. Felicia Day Google+'sd a link to a blog illustrating one of the broken characterizations in the reboot. A seven year old idolizes Starfire as my son will probably be all about Batman.

The character is presented in a T&A fashion (not unfamilliar to me from the intarwebs), but the way the kid responded to it kind of made me sad.

I've got a buddy at my local comic shop, sadly I need to go back.

  • @platypusdream Yes it is... the old Planet Comics. They became Atomik Pop around 1999 or so, but yep. The store was still in the same spot & the same guy from back in the 80's was working there as recently as early this summer. I still can't believe it. We had some great memories in that place back in the day. Thanks for watching & commenting!

  • Was this the store in Norman that closed? I hope that is not the case.

  • @dubman116 Thanks man, I heard the Animal Man was pretty good - I will try to pick that one up. I got the Detective Comic 1 & Action Comic 1. I will see if I can find the Batman & Wonder Woman. Thanks for the heads up. Very true about supporting the local comic shops. Thanks for watching & commenting!

  • on the new #1's man you've gotta check out Animal Man, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Action Comics.. those were probably my three favorites.

that's too bad about your lcs.. gotta enjoy and support what you've got and not take it for granted.

  • @BJCHESTER I did too, but I'm going to try to buy more from local shops (when I can of course). I got that Fourth World Omnibus Vol 1 - but couldn't find Vol 2. I heard they are reprinting them (FINALLY) in paperback form. I wish I could get it in hardcover at a reasonable price, but I will settle for whatever as long as it's back in print. Thanks for watching & commenting!
