PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING
Thought I would rewrite this as some people seem to be getting the wrong ideas.
First of all, please respect that I don't want advice on how to ride my horse. :) Jumanji and I know each other inside and out and that's why I trust him as much as I do and he trusts me as much as he does.

Besides that, this was over a year now and we have changed drastically. Neither of us are like this anymore so please look at a recent video if you feel the need to critisise me over something.

There are plenty instructors near me who we've had lessons from, plenty people who have told me what I should do, and each and every time I take advice from someone who doesn't know us we get no further ahead. So your comments would be wasted. :) Everyone on here seems to become an expert on how to ride a horse they've never met just because they've seen a 4 minute video of it, but I promise you, it just doesn't work that way. What works for one horse doesn't for another, and Jay is one of a kind!

Jumanji and I do what feels right for us both, if he isn't enjoying something then I'm not either. This horse knows everything that goes through my mind, and me him, I'm not going to squash that by making him into a robot who doesn't think or feel for himself. This is Jay. He's fun, he's crazy, he's eager, I wouldn't change him in any way.
What I will say, is this day he was particularly eager, and I just done my best to support his idea and go with it for a half hour. We don't normally go like this... haha! look at the video response below if you want to see :)

The wonderfull thing about Jumanji, is he can come out and jump like this one day, and the next I can say "steady up a bit lad" and he responds down to the T.

So I apologise if you don't appreciate what Jay and I do together, but we have fun, and I think that seriously lacks from riding these days!
We're not your average team, but I don't want him to be average! :D

And for everyone who's asking, in this video Jay was rising five, he's a Welsh Cob x Irish draught gelding, he's about 15.2hh, and I bought him as a wild scruffy little thing at one and a half years old! hehe Still find it hard to believe he's turned into such a stud ;)

Anyways, thank you SO much to everyone who left nice comments, I really really appreciate the support!!! Thanks for watching guys :) I really did not expect the response I've had frrom this video! hehe

  • I give you 10 million props girl. That horse does not look easy to ride. I admire your determination!

  • @supergal220 Thank you veryyyy much!! :) Most folk take one look and assume I can't ride hehe! So it'a nice to get comments like these every now and then :) Thanks ! xxxx

  • how come you back up before you canter? just wondering. :)

  • @flapjack200011 I was backing up before canter just to test his buttons as surprisingly, up untill before this ride, he was veryyyy lazy in the brain and didn't think forward atall, (though as you can tell he was thinking plenty forward here!) and also just to engage his backend a bit and remind him to use it as he was getting pretty "runny" at a few points :) I like doing alot of transitions with him and do back up into canter alot just to keep him thinking :) thanks everyone! xxxxx

  • Hey, just wondering what boots you have? Because I have been trying to find these boots for ages! :)

  • @Hannaah4Horses Depends if you mean my horses boots or my own! hehe :D MY own are Mountain horse high riders - best boots I've ever had ;) And Jay's wearing cheapies off of a website called tackheaven, they are fab also though! :D xxxxxx

  • i hate when people say, "they can't ride", well all i know is you stayed on him and could ride him round the track, that's good enough for me.. (he's beautiful btw and i love the name, haha!)

  • Wow, you're an amazing rider, I wouldn't stay on if my horse did that! :L It's absolutely gorgeous, and he's so adorable! :3 wow, and he's brilliant for a 5 year old! When did you start riding? xx

  • what kind of horse is he? i love that coloring when your riding bareback and it looks like there's a pad under you, or especially when that patch is the shape of an english saddle :-p
