Here is a quick way to make batteries that will mount under the original battery compartment of the E-Flite Blade MSR RC Micro Helicopter using the Zippy 240mah 20C batteries.

Hope this helps

Oh and I get around 9.5 - 10 mins flight time for 2 grams extra in weight which makes no difference to flight performance.

  • Great vid! Doing this with 6 packs of 320's for my MCPX. Question.. did you use 1mm or 2mm thick Kapton tape?

  • @BlackSwarm1 I think it is even less than 1mm heck it is very thin, I am not sure though... sorry, but until I get back from overseas I cant answer that for sure

  • I dont understand why ppl use lipo... bloody things are dangerous. Plus I heard they retain a memory, bad for any tiny capacity battery.. nimh AAAA cells can get up to 1000 mah..

  • @Me102288 if only 1000maH was enough, going brushless takes bursts of up to 4000maH on these tiny heli's and the weight ratio is totally unacceptable using the nimh, there is no memory effect with lipo's but they cant go flat like nimh, each type of battery has it's pro's and con's each has it's place. The A123 cells are good but really catered for larger heli's, heck in your new mobile phones you have lipo's because of weight and capacity. nimh is old technology, safe but capacity is limited

  • @killerzomb arm how exactly? its the same output, just takes a bigger charge.

  • Thank You for posting this!! Question: What grade glue was that & can that glue also be used on the landing skid to make it more durable before a crash...I keep breaking skids...was wondering if giving a generous coating to the skid might protect it...need your opinion Thanks -Rob-

  • @Wiiviewsowner

    Thank you

  • Very dangerous Mod, this can cause your motors to burn out causing heartache and misery to your otherwise pleasurable hobby. DONT DO IT.

  • Hi there,

can you help me buying these lipos?

  • @JaleelJohanson62 Dont worry about that guy named "Me102288" he is long gone.....

  • @Me102288 Do you understand the concept of energy density? It's expressed in watt hours per unit weight. Look it up. Lipo has a far greater energy density than nimh along with vastly superior C rate during discharge. The danger is also small with solid, safe handling procedures.

  • @wapitiRack when you solder the tabs pleaseee be carefull that you dont over heat the pack thru the tabs as you solder gun is very dangerous li-po and heat dont match can explode please becarefull gour should mention that as well!!!!!!!!!!!
