Through this video I have tried to explain the concept of log shipping in MS SQL Server. It's broken into 2 parts, this is the first part.

  • Truly so, in the session I updated viewers for that piece of info, you may have missed it. MS SQL Server is capable of automating all the step, but I preferred doing it manually as this was the demo video and I wanted the viewers to be closely aware of the steps involved. Thanks for sharing your views.

  • i'm not trying to be smart i believe knowledge grows from sharing

  • once you configure log shipping it will do everything (Such as restoring the database to secondary server as standby / read-only mode, backup, and copy) :):)

  • hi mr keshan you don't have to take full & tran log backup and also you don't have to restore the database manually to your secondary server before configuring log shipping . All three steps, BACKUP, Restore, and copy job can be done all at once by configuring log shipping.
