What ever knowledge of the unseen the Messenger was given is described in the Qur'an. However, based on various reports of different people, we should not build our eeman on it. That said, what ever we read in history and collections based on hearsay is another story and subject to speculation and assumptions and incorrect reports.

Allah (swt) says: ‘Say (O Muhammad(saw) None in the Heavens and the Earth knows the Ghaib (unseen) except Allah…’(s27, v65/ s11, v31/ s6, 59) The scholars of the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamaat state: ‘that a person who claims that the souls of the pious Muslims are present everywhere at the same time and that they know all things, cause a person to leave the fold of Islam.’ (Bazazia Hashia Hindia, vol 4, p325)
