The Abbey of Monte Cassino or Montecassino, in Italy.
Monte Cassino is on a hill about 130 km (80 miles) to the south of Rome and to the west of the town of Cassino; the Roman Casinum having been on the hill). It is where Benedict of Nursia established around 529AD, his first monastery, the source of the Benedictine Order.

  • American scum bags ... there where never any soldiers within the abbey

  • To think it was reduced to rubbles in the 1940s...

  • Lovely video. It is amazing to think that the relics of St Benedict and his sister St Scholastica have been kept in this abbey since the 6th century. The relics still lie here and have remained undisturbed despite centuries of turmoil.

  • @Dexthefirst= Yes it is. My granfather was there, when he served under General Clark.

  • Somewhere i want to see this!!!

  • Nice to see, the only important thing missing from this is the crypt under the alter.
