  • Hiddins and all you Bear haters are idiots. Man vs Wild is primarily a show for entertainment (something it does very well). As for Hiddins calling Bear a 'pretender' that's just stupid. There is no doubt he has a vast knowledge of survival and he passed selection to the SASR (yes the reserves, but they get taught the same techniques i.e. survival, E&E etc and the selection is the same). Add to that climbing Mt Everest, his other achievement and charity work and he is the man!

  • @Forester226 We might be "idiots" but at least some of us have been bush and lived of the land mate, i doubt very much you ever got of your arse and away from your LCD TV.... keep having an opinion couch potato, and keep hunting for food at Coles

  • ease up..ease up, it is mostly entertainment... im sure we all know that now dont we guys?..i mean to get ratings the broadcasting networks know that you need thrills and spills and all that shit, sheesh, oh and i think we can agree that bear does it well, i quite like his energy and enthusasim which is more than some people have, so yeah dont be haters, your just jealous you dont have a cool job like that, that pays more than youl ever get in a lifetime..im just sayin :P

  • @shannonismotivated So the important thing about surviving is ratings? Hype v common sense.... gimme Les Hiddins any day

  • of course M.v.W is made for entertainment. But as for Bear being a pretender, just look at his resume pre M.v.W. He was the youngest Briton to summit Everest, crossed the Atlantic in an inflatable boat, Himalayan parajet records, Antarctic expedition, etc. etc. Les is certainly very knowledgable, but I think only in a very localised part of the world. Besides, if I was stuck on a desert island, I'd want good old Ray Mears with me anyway. Oh, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead too!

  • Bush tucker man is the master. Bear Grylls is an entertainer.

  • @Forester226 Les Hiddins and Bear get dropped in the wild with no water. Les scans the landscape and uses his vast knowledge to find water. Bear just picks up some elephant shit and drinks the juice out of it.

    MMMM MMmm Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Nothing more needs to be said on the matter really does it ;)

Good on ya Les. Couldn't have put it better myself.

  • As an American, I've had a chance to watch some of Hiddins earlier show. Granite it was out when I was just a toddler lol, but I find Hiddins has more respect for his environment, and is more of a realist. After watching his show, i'd trust Hiddins over Bear Grills anytime lol.

  • I'm English and I'd trust Major Les anytime over Bear Grills

  • @baner62

Typical, when you sound like a jackass and someone calls you up on it you call them a couch potato.

I get out camping in the Australian bush all the time, I'm certainly not a couch potato. I'm obviously just a little bit more intelligent.

At least you admit your an idiot!

  • Bears a dickhead! someone in scotland dead from him already. Les is the MAN !

  • 1:54 10/10 score for Les just because he told it like it is, no fluffy talk. Doesn't always help, but hey he's got balls to say this on the news about a guy who has a huge fan following!
