CAPS Shopping Cart Wheel Hack RAMPAGE

Watch until the end!! The wheels work okish on this smooth floor, but watch what happens when they reach the exit and get stopped dead!

Hacking the CAPS system that is designed to lock the shopping cart wheels when it leaves the boundaries of the supermarket. We made our own version of the system to use in store! After an initial test and a few failed attempts we got the hang of it. This wheel hack is loads of fun. Watch what happens when they try to leave the supermarket. Total PWNAGE of the CAPS system.

nice :) what kind of signal does it use....and how comes an audio jack provides enough power

@antoneykent Its an electromagnetic signal but can be recorded just as easily as sound with the copper loop wire (Transducer pickup). Boosting the power would boost the signal.. an audio jack provides just enough juice to get the range seen on the vid.

You could amplify the signal and play it through an antenna rather than the coil. Im debating whether to build my own with the antenna, or follow some schematics to build a more complicated one with a 20 ft+ range. any thoughts?
