Thanks for your and all other comments. It's not so peaceful at night, though. The frogs go crazy, like a bunch of teenagers at a pool party. Check out the night pond video that I posted awhile back.. It's sometimes much more raucous than even that. The fish spawned so we had to make the pond bigger to hold them all. Room for more frogs too!

we're about to move for the 2nd time this year, and this time we're finally buying a house. the thing I love is the fish pond we get. I want to make something like this. ours has a basic plastic base, with rocks kinda tiling it so you don't see it. it holds in all the water perfectly and looks natural. Your pond is really beautiful too. It must be so nice to just sit out there and listen to the water. Oh, one more thing: What do you do in the winter? do the fish freeze?

No, we are in the south and it doesn't get cold enough for the water to freeze. We just don't feed them much in the winter. Thanks.

Beautiful Pond! I have a question tho...in Sep. I'm moving to the Catskills, NY, and want to put in a pond. I am an expert when it comes to tanks, but I have never done a pond. What happens if it snows? Or really cold weather? Will a heater do the trick?

Well, I don't really know. I live in the deep south, where if seldom snows. I Think that as long as the water doesn't freeze, they will be OK. I just quit feeding mine every day in the winter. You'd best look elsewhere for a good answer to your question, though. Good luck.
