Dude, you need a trainer so you can actually pedal while crushing your grain.
-
@pheenix42 As far as I know you can't get a flip flop freewheel hub.
-
Have you tried it for milling wheat grain?
-
This is exactly what I've been looking for to do with my Barley Crusher. I ride fixed gear as well, and this would be a great way to mill grain. I'm tired of cranking and have thought for a long time that pedaling would be great for milling.

Very cool idea! A multi-gear rear hub would even save you some leg power as well!

I want to do this as well, how do you attach the cog to the mill?

@illegalpowerli I took it to a muffler shop and had them weld it on for $5. I had to use a dremel to open the hole on the sprocket so that it fit the shaft on the mill.

I am going to Tanzania to implement a grain milling setup in a village there. Try to find the simplest bike design and this looks great. Wondering how you attached the second sprocket to the rear hub? Was that a disk brake hub?

@jeancob84 This is a flip-flop type hub common on track bikes or fixed-gear setups. It has threads on both sides of the hub which makes connecting the second sprocket very easy.
