The new Mercedes-Benz S 400 BlueHYBRID is based on the S 350, and features an extensively modified drive train. This encompasses a further development of the 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, an additional magneto-electric motor, the 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission specially configured for the hybrid module, the necessary operating and control electronics, the transformer and a high-voltage lithium-ion battery.

  • @simonmarx34 thanks for explaning

  • @jh5kl in cold weather a diesel engine needs time to warm up befor it is started and that would not work in cold climates, also diesels need to be warm to be efficient

  • @NoxNoctisUmbra I have never seen a diesel-hybrid and by all the people I ear talking about that I imagine that it never existed, I really don`t understand why.

  • it's not an interesting production

try to think toyota didn't do that because it would pollute more than petrol engine and it's torque were low like the one of the motor

  • Did i miss it? Or they did not mention it.. how many MPG?

Besides.. Imagine Hybrid DIESEL Turbo engine. I know it would be bit louder.. but look at MPG!
