(The instrumental section ends at 1:43.)

"Be Born In Me" is a gorgeous, reflective song penned by Nichole Nordeman and beautifully sung by Francesca Battistelli. Written from Mary's point of view, Nordeman weaves an insightful picture of what Mary may have felt upon learning that she would be carrying the Son of God as her child.

During the instrumental section at the beginning of the song, I included verses from Luke 1: 30-33 where Gabriel visits Mary as these verses flow quite naturally into the song itself.

As we steadily approach the Christmas season, this song is a calm and introspective piece that matches the occasion perfectly.

Note I: This song is part of an entire album called Music Inspired by The Story dedicated to songs from the points of view of various Old and New Testament characters. The scope is meant to be rather epic in size (hence the orchestration throughout the album).

Note II: No copyright infringement is intended. I only wish to share how I envisioned the music translated to video format.

  • Here was how I envisioned this lyric video:

[Instrumental sequence] Timed the verses Luke 1: 30-33 where Gabriel tells Mary the news to the rises and swells in the music - the whole sequence fit rather well.

Then: image of a sunset where I imagine how Mary pondered the angel's words.

Transitions into an image of a quiet night and Mary prays where the song begins: a portrayal of Mary's thoughts.

  • The song covers Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem.

[Song] 1st image - as described before

2nd image - Mary and Joseph begin journey.

3rd image - Mary and Joseph continue journey

4th - wisemen traveling at night

[End of song] 5th - Birth of Jesus

  • @GinKirk7256 In love, I remind you of the truth that Jesus says on the cross, "Woman, behold your son. Son, behold your mother." Jn 19:26-27 How beautiful it is that He gave her to us, not to worship; we only worship Jesus. not to hold in any higher esteem than Jesus; truly only Jesus is God and worthy of the greatest esteem and praise. However, we believe that Jesus loves & honors His mother with all His heart and calls us to do the same, she loving us so much! He's happy when we do so!

  • @sarautube100 Thank you Sara; I was just about to post the same message you just typed, and noticed that you posted it already! God bless you, and may our Mother Mary pray for you and all, especially those who don't yet know her beautiful love as our Mother, given by Jesus! Merry Christmas!

  • When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, "Woman, behold, your son." Then he said to the disciple, "Behold, your mother." And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.

    John 19, 26-27

That's why the Blessed Virgin Mary is our Mother also.

  • Hell, I'm an Atheist. And I LOVE this song!!

  • I have been thinking and praying on the words "Die to self." I think I am coming to a better understanding. Lay aside my desires, my plans, my self and be a willing tool for God. Listen for His will and then do it. I don't have to be afraid because I can Trust Him, He has my best interests at heart, I can be sure that HIS ways are best. Can I truly say to God, be born in me? If she hadn't been willing, the Lord surely would have chosen another. What an amazing picture of Die to Self is Mary!

  • @Rayile Not all views are equal. To refer to Mary as our mother, to pray to her, reverence her as if she is equal to God is HERESY! I never said I didn't LOVE those who pray to Mary. By God, we're called to be intolerant in LOVE! MERRY CHRISTMAS! :)

  • @GinKirk7256 It's not very christian of you to be disrespecting others views. You may feel differently but as Christians we are supposed to love others no matter what. If you can't love someone who is praising Jesus, then how can you love someone who hates Jesus? Were supposed to love everyone, even though it's hard some times. Loving people who love Jesus seems like it would be much easier. Just something to pray about.

  • @joyfulbeth Mary is not our mother. She was Jesus' mother! He was the only one infallible! She was a mere human just like the rest of us.

  • @Jeffcoaster Mary was the mother of Jesus. She is not our mother, and she is not holy as Jesus is. It's blasphemy to say she is. Only Jesus was sinless.
