@itsareligionofpeace No it's more because most voters vote out of emotion than politics. Don't believe me? Next time you have a political discussion with a friend or family memeber, ask em about their favorite candidate. I'd be willing to bet money that the first thing they'll talk about is how they feel like the candidate is more in line with their personal beliefs. That's how Barack Obama got into office. People liked his image more than his politics.

Folks need to get out of Libertarian fantasy worlds.
The Southern Avenger gets excited and says:
"If Ron Paul had been elected President and dismantled all the..."
Hey folks. Ron Paul won all of 22 delegates in GOP primaries. That's what < 1% of the delegates.
No libertarian focuses candidate for President has never won even 2%.
Libertarianism is a cult that doesn't connect with ~ 98% of the American voters in Presidential races.

RP is Isolationist? Did you just pick that off GOP's secret strategic manual against RP :D

I'd vote for Ron Paul.

I do agree we should close some overseas bases and pull out of some countries entirely. But, we also need some overseas presence or we are blind to threats that begin over there.

Its not isolationism, its non interventionism. Think about it, we spend billions of tax dollars to keep the empire afloat, we have bases in over 130 countries and its killing us financially....
-
Ron Paul is not an isolationist...that was a term thrown around without validity. I don't understand why anyone still uses this excuse and/or term anymore.

Isolationism? Is asking to follow the constitution and vote for a declaration of war Isolationism? Is asking for the blank check writing to the military industrial complex while our country goes bankrupt Isolationism? Isolationism is what Sean Hannity and the W. ilk of the party tried and to some achieved to paint Dr. Paul. Isolationist is code for "Follows the Constitution."

I would have support Ron Paul if he was not so hung up on isolationism as a world policy stance. As a conservative, I've given up believing the BS promises of the GOP and think it's time for people to seriously abandon voting along party lines. But beyond that, ensure that there are more candidates to chose from at the election booth, not settling for what any party chooses as a front runner.

Jack needs to put his money where his mouth is and run for office because the current 3rd party candidates like Hoffman and Palin(?) are such duds that no sensible moderate would vote for them. Without proper leadership the conservatives would end up with a mirror image of the Nader Green Party (which no one votes for either).
Fiscal responsiblity, live-and-let-live on where adults put their naughty bits and what they put into their bodies. And free fucking speech. One is not guaranteed the right to not be offended,,,,

WElfare is a big problem because it demoralozes, dehumanizes people. It is destructive. Millions of people are living as zombies rather than vital human beings because they become dependent robbing them of their potential.
