A rubbish feminist fantasy fiction novel and film out to bash males by depicting them as everything inferior and women as everything superior. You're left with a sense that it was women that advanced us from the stone age to where we are now because the evil male character who oppresses, rapes, and bullies the woman heroine until she hands his ass to him at the end, that we'd still be living in the stone age. It's a "You go girl, teach that inferior male a lesson about girl power!" story.

The books are fantastic. Movie sucks. If Peter Jackson could keep from changing the story to much, I'd like to see a movie series encompassing all the books with him directing. He's the only one I can think of that's fanatical/obsessive enough to halfway pull it off. While he's at it he could do Steven Donaldson's Thomas Covenant/Lord Foul series. I'd love to see the "ILL EARTH WAR" in a movie.

@RainyDayzandFunDayz I just finished the book. Beeing named after a great Klan-member is an honor, form their perspective. You should seriously be proud, though.

I do wish we had traditions like that in my familiy.

I wish they would name me Charles-Bernstein-Creb Darwin-Nietzsche-Kafka-Eddison :D

I think the second book would have made a better movie. They could still incorperate a bit more of the first book with flashbacks and it wouldnt be as hard with the Ayla starting to talk. plus the love story with Jondalar I would love to see in film!
