8:30 a-pawn dropping
Well in this case it really could be crushing. Perfectly placed bishops and a queenside assault against cramped pieces, and taking down the b-pawn means the a-pawn is passed... it's totally game over.

Instead of ... Qg6 why not play d5 strait away?

Why do you think its bad that he's being coached?
It's normal to have coaches. Singers have vocal coaches, basketball players have basketball coaches, musicians have music coaches so what's wrong with chess players having chess coaches?

I think the problem with Qxf4 there would be Nb5! threatening both Nxc7 and also Bxc5, uncovering the attack on the Queen. If Bxf2+ then simply Rxf2 and White wins (Queen is attacked, Nxc7 is also threatened.)

If he doesnt use a move to take the Knight the C7 fork is a threat, after using that move he had to move his knight because it was attacked by two pawns, then white reinforced the F4 square
Not enough time

Could someone please explain why black can't win a second pawn at 5:53, Qxf4? Is there some clear refutation that I'm just missing?

@ chessgames
I'm sure Kasparov is well aware about considerations about 'fairness' etc..
But I would allege him an idealistic vision: I think he's sorta "believing" in that boy and thinks he'd be able to push chess to a higher level, he once mentioned that motive ..
Expectations are high but I think Carlsen might fulfill them.
