  • I RARELY ever go out of my way to comment on any videos but I have to say a big THANK YOU for this tutorial. Couldn't have been any more helpful... especially coming from a background of field stripping only plastic guns (Glock, M&P, etc) - Thanks again! +1

  • @jspec7m88 Thank you. Glad you found it helpful.

  • Great video! Thanks for putting this up! I just used your video to clean my RIA 1911 for the first time. Any specific recommendations on solvents, grease, etc?

  • @BMFDTarHeels As far as solvents and lubrication... I think most of it is good stuff.. The key really is just to keep the gun clean. I like Gun slick, hoppes, Pro Tec, Break Free CLP, shooters choice. Ive had good luck with it all. Thanks for watching the video. Enjoy your gun.

  • Try using a tooth brush to brush off the gunk, much easier to work with.

  • @gooztala umm....? I did use a toothbrush... Did you watch the whole video?

  • Does anyone know how to tighten the front sight? I have a Taurus 1911 with heinie sights and the front one just started to wiggle. I assume it is an Allen screw correct me if I am wrong.

  • Great video! Should have my 1911 next week perfect video for how to clean it!

Do you have part numbers for the cleaning tools you used via the bushes and swabs..etc.

    Thanks,

    -Nigel

  • Iv'e found out from a few guys that using a can of non Clorinated Brake cleaner sprayed on the gun parts works great,? For breaking down old carbon fouling & oil etc & it does not harm the gun or any of its parts.? but it must be the non Clorinated kind & not the regular cleaner.?

  • I found that an old tooth brush comes in handy for scrubbing out the inside if the frame etc. great detailed video thanks for posting.?

  • @jspec7m88 Have you ever used or tried any Mobil 1 on any of your guns,? I have been reading a lot of forums that have suggested this on their firearms.?
