Geelong Cats 2007 players

Today, Saturday the 29th of September 2007, the Geelong Cats finally won the Grand Final.

It is their first Premireship since 1963 and they beat Port (Adelade) Power by 119 points, a record margin in an VFL/AFL Grand Final.

This is the cats 7th premireship and has been a long and tough road since the 5 other Grand Final losses from 1967, 1989, 1992, 1994, 1995 and also other years when they have been great but just failed to win when it mattered most.

(The epic Semi Final loss against Sydney in 2005 was a good example about how hard it has been for the cats over the years)

But they have finally won it and in amazing style.

This video looks at the players of Geelong's great 2007 side and also reminds us all about that a Grand Final win is not just made in one season, it is made in many years to get the right players and get them all playing well together and also a little bit of luck with little injuries, suspensions and close results going your way in finals are just some of the important parts that have contributed in the cat's most successful season ever...

The pictures are from the Unofficial Geelong Site, the Cattery, and also some from the Geelong Advertiser from today and a few posters from the Geelong addy too that were made this year.

The music is from the RPG videogame "Skies of Arcadia" that had the credits sequence that was to a tune of a waltz and I thought it was a reflective piece of music that suited the long and hard journey that all of the Geelong players had to endure in order to have the season that they have had just now...

Well done the Cats!!!!

Thanks should also go to the coach Mark Tompson and the Geelong coaching staff and also the Geelong Football Club President and the Team Selection Committie for their efforts this year for the players becaus without them, the cats would not have been one of the best sides going around in the AFL this year.

It was meant to be more of a reflective music,

Reflective as in it took Geelong so long to win one over years of comming so close but failing.

Also listen to the music at the end, it is more trianphant. I don't think it was depressing at all to be honest.

Sure it was different but that was how I chose the music, it was to reflect on all the hard work all these players had put in though the years.

For all those Geelong fans, be proud of the fact we won last year. Don't waste time arguing with all those losers who want to be bad sports about it, after all you don't know when we'll win another. Look how long it took this time. Yeah we lost this year, but it is just a game. So enjoy the game every time they play and look forward to the next time we bring it home.

mate im a crows supporter but if i could choose anyone else to win it would be the cats, i hope adelaide win the premiership but thats highly unlikely unless they do what they did in 1998. It will be the cats in 2008, 2009 and maybe even 2010. This is a dynasty here.
