The Evansville IceMen and their fans celebrate winning the 2010 All-American Hockey League Davidson Cup Championship on April 15 at Swonder Ice Arena in Evansville, Indiana.
This part of the video begins with the final seconds of the game, the wild celebration after the final buzzer, and the traditional handshake line. Stephen Rickard then conducts on-ice interviews with IceMen goaltender John Dorman and IceMen head coach Jack Collins. Finally, AAHL Commissioner Rod Davidson presents the Davidson Cup to IceMen captain Isaac Coy and IceMen owner Ron Geary, and Geary begins a brief victory speech. (See Parts 2 and 3 for the rest of the post-game celebration.)
Evansville won the Best-of-7 championship series 4-games-to-1 over the West Michigan Blizzard, after eliminating the Battle Creek Revolution in the Best-of-5 semi-final round by a 3-games-to-1 margin. The IceMen won the championship in their second season of operation, giving the city of Evansville its first-ever professional hockey title and its first professional sports championship since the Evansville Otters took the Frontier League baseball crown in 2006.
