It is a curious trend that seems to be unfolding among the youth in parts of the country...the more they find themselves out of work, the more they turn to alcohol to drown their woes ... And this reality is sadly unfolding in Gathiga village in kikuyu constituency. The older men in the village are pointing fingers at the youth for avoiding marriage and failing to start families. The youth are instead attempting to drown their sorrows in alcohol. Reportedly, most of the children in the nursery schools there are born to the older generation. Sally Mbilu puts that story into perspective.
where was this village again?

@suensmith just pray for them. we are losing a generation to alcohol, drugs, crime and militias not here in Gathiga but in many other neglected towns n villages in Kenya. Our government doesnt seem to have a policy that will help the youth. no jobs for school leavers, colleges are expensive, Play grounds have been grabbed, so leaving many of my idle peers to such evil things.

Does CDF money get here? who is the area MP? Youth need other areas to channel their energies instead of wasting their lives in alcohol. I know, I have been on that same road myself.
