Secretary-General of Amnesty International Shalil Shetty is in New Zealand on an international speaking tour, coming up to the 50th anniversary of the human rights organisation.
He has just arrived from Australia where he slammed the Australian government for its approach to asylum seekers and its Northern Territory Intervention programme.
He is telling developed countries that they need to be squeaky clean on their own human rights record before they go lecturing developing nations.
Alex Perrottet speaks to Salil Shetty, Secretary-General of Amnesty International.
