A tongue-in-cheek ode to excessive consumption and the resulting introspection, "Pointless Drinking" follows the daily cycle of a self-medicating waitress (singer/bassist Amy LaVere) wishing for better. Written by Paul Taylor (drums), it has been one of the most well-received songs from LaVere's sophomore release Anchors and Anvils (Archer Records). Video was shot in a variety of locations in midtown Memphis including The Cove and Joe's Liquor.
