GC Resident Evil 4 - Intro

Now this is special!

Supposed to be "the" killer app game for the GameCube, marketing decisions within Capcom saw Capcom porting it to PS2 (an amazing technological feat, might I add) and PC about 10 months after it's GC release.

Im glad it was, tought, so more people could enjoy it, and with the cheap re-release for the Wii coming along, even more people wil be able to play this.

And so they should. When I got this game, I simply couldn't believe of how amazingly good from the technical viewpoint of things it was... and running on a 5 year old tech GameCube!

Plotwise, its also good. You play as Leon and have to investigate a "alternate reality" Spanish village, looking up for the President of the USA missing daughter. You will meet familair faces along the way, but since I think some people with the Wii may be going to play this for the first time, I won't spoil anything.

Videogames don't come much better then this. Still puts today almost everything on superior hardware consoles to shame.

well RE4 WAS supposed to be for the PS2 from the very beginning.  it is my 3rd favorite action game from last gen ( God of War is 2nd and Metal Gear Solid 3 is 1st )

Quite the opposite, Resident Evil 4 was made on purpose for the GameCube and was to be an exclusive from the very beginning, getting later on ported to PS2 due to the GC tiny market share.

Code Veronica is the one with the better continuation of the story in my opinion, I still play it from time to time on my Dreamcast. Although the horror game with the best stories for me has always been Silent Hill, totally different game but that one is scary usually by the story and symbolism (primarily on 3 and 4) everywhere more than the monsters or the dark.

Oh attract mode? Thanks for clearing that up,I always wondered what the difference between intro and the mini CS(attract mode) at the beginning was. RE games keep getting better and better,the music and story too,before this one came out my favorite was Code Veronica.

That's actually Attract mode, the intro explains everything what happened since Resident Evil 2 and shows the Umbrella Corp. symbol and such.

This game still is incredibly to play and still looks incredible...and yes, I have a 360 and PS3...
