At 3:05 p.m. Attala Fire, Attala Sheriff Deputies along with Sallis Volunteers responded to a vehicle fire on Hwy 12 West beside Horne's Grocery. The caller advised that an AT&T truck was on fire. County Fire Chief Roy Williams along with County Engine 12 & Sallis Volunteer 417 were first to respond to the location. At 3:11p.m. Dewitt Adcock (Unit 417) passed the scene, en-route to pick up the Sallis Engine, and notified responding units that the vehicle was fully involved. After Adcock passed he advised that he could hear explosions from the vehicle. At 3:36 p.m. Firefighters battled the flames for approximately 20 minutes before bringing the fire under control. There were no injuries reported and the truck was totally destroyed.

  • That Was Me. Yea,Its Hard To Remember Sometimes Until The Damage Makes You Permanently Remember. The Magnesium Explosion Made My Turnout Coat Look Like Someone Had Taken A Shotgun To Me. Ive Worn It Every Since.
