  • Streich is illuminati!! How many references did he say he had !!!

  • The interruption is a regular occurrence. Why do they have to be so rude and interrupt, it throws you off course with your speech.

  • There's actually a really funny story behind all this. The judge is not a jerk in reality, there's a reason why he acts the way he does. Unfortunately, I can't explain without exposing too much.

  • The judge is doing what is needed in these competitions. Everyone there are so beepin bright. Most people can recite their project beautifully, but few can actually respond intelligently to when a judge grills them. These few that succeed end up winning.

Oh and kudos to his excellent enunciation and pacing. It was very easy to follow. If only I had mastered that when I competed in 06' =(

  • as for not letting the kid talk, this is a regular occurance and the judges should have some manners, if they ask a question, it is only manners to listen.

  • i agree, the jude is a jerk. he should just calm down and let the kid speak. he probably feels threatened by this kids brain

i feel weird calling him a kid even though i am seven years older than him at the time of filming. he's such an intellectual giant i feel like he deserves the respect i would give someone who had a graduate degree

  • The judge is a complete jerk. He asks the kid a question and then won't let him answer. Smart guys like Phillip usually have the most difficulty getting their ideas past losers like Judge Bozo.

  • I had this judge at ISEF 2008! I'm going again this year, so I might see him again. : )

  • actually they have also had two astroids named after them!

  • very good video.. two of my friends were there and won the second prize for teams as well as The National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance's first prize.

i hope a judge is going to "grill" me like this at intel isef 2008! unfortunately theres not a lot of good judges in my field. (two stroke pollution, a much better exhaust system).
