I think this is the most amazing version of the song I've ever heard. This has always been my favorite part in the Nutcracker.

I think you're right Mark. With this small ensamble the recurring and almost hypnotic melody is much more distinct but not overpowering. It certainly has a hypnotic quality to it. The rest of the music weaves around this recurring melody beautifully.

I can almost picture a snake charmer playing a flute and making a cobra "dance" to his music.

this is my favorite part of the nutcaracker! my friend is in ballter and her ballet school does this show every yr and he teacher does the arab dance some yrs but has stopped due 2 having 2 kids so one of the kids does it im trying 2 convince my friend 2 do it cuz shes really felxiable so she will b able 2 do it but doesn't want 2! the just did cinderealla last night and it was gorgeous and beautiful and amazingly done! she played one of the stepsisters! :D

I praise the cellos and the violas for keeping that ostinato up from the beginning. It must be hard to keep it up for so long. Good job. I hope that if I ever to pick up the viola that I get to play the nutcracker. I'm doing the nutcracker, but on violin.Bravo
