  • Very nice, where are you guys from? sounds like a trace of southern accent there? I know there are Italian communities in NOLA and Tampa. Anyway, very smart to video these things. It's priceless. We did get our Grandmother making the pizzayeane (Neapolitan pizza rustica) from scratch but we would have liked to have so much more. NYC here. Best to you.

  • @Shubael1809 Good man. I am sick to death of the Italian portrayal as cosa nostra and mafia too. There is way more positive and enlightening things about Italian culture. It's a pity so many dumb Americans have no idea about Italian culture, beyond a bowl of pasta or the ferrari. And reference to Martin Scorsese and The Sopranos simply perpetuates the myth of Italian immigrants as a bunch of mobsters. Nothing could be further from the truth!

  • So many people disparage Italians because they are jealous of us. What Italians have done compared to the French or Germans for Europe is inestimable. The fact that Italians have always been a migratory culture has tarnished us with the poor China man brush. But there are many reasons Italians have migrated and I will not explain it so find out yourself.

    Conceived and born in Italy.

  • mabye not slaves, probably indentured servants man

  • Ethnic Music from Apulia South of Italy - Southern italian folk music

Search the video " Taranta Beat project: 'Figlia figlia' "

    Ciao!

  • THANK YOU xCAGx77!

This is precisely how I feel about this video and all this preposterous Sopranoesque crap...

Being 100% English by ancestry I've always found it interesting that I'm so drawn to Italian culture, its people, and the language. The thing is - ninety percent of those posting here have no REAL CONCEPT of what it is to be Italian (in the European sense).

Knowing the language and the people of Italy has been supreme joy for me.

    Thanks for your input.

  • itsnt it just insane how people argue who is "more italian" italian americans versus italian canadians vs italian argentines vs italian australians....lord have mercy who cares just get on with it! yes, i like understanding the italian ancestry and am proud to have some grasp of the language & culture but that doesnt mean i want to take part in some stupid stereotype or have my grandprarents nationality define me today as an American. Funny how ridiculous it is!

  • lol!

Great point xCAG. True Italians do have to be from Italy. This "Italian American" phraseology is preposterous. I'm English by nationality but my family's been here for generations. I hardly go around saying "Hey! I'm English-American".

    Fucking ridiculous...

"scometterei che io possa parlare l'italiano meglio di quanto ne parli tu!"

Anch'io!! Molto divertente. Sono Americano e parlo la lingua Italiana meglio di quegli stronzi qui!!

  • yes, someone with gold chains and who talks loudly, the north american version of a tamarro

  • True Italians have to be 51%...don;t true Italians have to be from Italy? LOL...io sono proprio un mezzo ital-americano (anche son mezzo irlandese)...ma scometterei che io possa parlare l'italiano meglio di quanto ne parli tu!

  • First Italian/Sicilian settlers were in the south. they were slaves but good luck finding that in a history book. Canada, believe it or not has the most Italians in North America. So this guy talks like a cowboy, but look at his hands...
