As the government accorded a state funeral to Prof. Wangari Maathai, a subtle gesture that spoke volumes about the political rivalry between Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Water Minister Charity Ngilu, did not go unnoticed at the Uhuru Park grounds. The differences between the two played out, when the two failed to shake hands at the farewell ceremony for Prof. Maathai. This latest incident brings in to sharp focus the mutual suspicion that has characterized the relationship between the two Ukambani leaders.

  • Enemy or not, shaking hands is not hypocrisy but an act of diplomacy. They can learn something from Raila and Uhuru. Sorry I have no right to judge but I had to comment.

  • Those who want to be disappointed will remain forever disappointed; why should Madam Ngilu pacify this pretender? This guy deserves what he gets, Madam Ngilu is our pride, and it is our hope that she remains focused. This is the way to treat a blabbermouth. The acrobat chauvinist got his match, Madam Ngilu is a brave lady and remains the pride of our time. There is no need to abase this lady unless you want to revert back to the old retrogressive mindsets.

  • Ngilu am very Disappointed , you could have at-least shook his hand. There's no need to wash your dirty linen in Public. That's not a quality of a leader. Atleast he tried kalonzo kudos for that..!

  • To reiterate, Madam Ngilu is no pretender, she has no room for political kangaroos or blabbermouths. She is focussed and cares more about her electorates. She cares less about the political acrobats and opportunists who seem to think that others should be isolated and if possible denigrated regardless. Thank you madam, you have done us proud mum, we call you mum out of respect which you so deserve; you have shown the chauvinists where they belong. Thank you for remaining focussed.

  • @kenyambele I clearly indicated that u read like one from Bongo- Tanzania. Unafikiri Kupigwa ni Kiboko tu!! Umechemsha msee... read wide and intreract more before you blog...Paraprosdokian - Uzuri wa mkakasi ndani kipande cha mti.....even our Lord used Parables to teach. If life was that direct it would be very boring. Everyone knows Ngilu alikwachua doo za maji, i just dint think a Laureate deserved all charade this during her final sendoff...

  • @matiriot1 the kiboko should start with you....beat you back to the 18th century where you belong!
