  • How did you get your position on the ship? What sort of degree or schooling is required? Looks like you had a blast!

  • @meinzyman I went to a nautical college and had to do an internship on board.. After I'm finished with my education I can become an engineer as well as an officer on the bridge.. I had a great time on board, seen a lot of the world!

  • How long time do you spend in each port? Do you have time to see the cities every time?

  • @anotherelvis A container ship normally stays between 12 and 24 hours in port. When you're not on duty you can go ashore most of the time.. I was onboard as a cadet so I could go ashore in most of the ports.

  • is that a pilot ship ? or a tug? the on on your Starbord side ?

  • @ursuletzzz That's a tug

ziet er goed uit! and, it is surely possible to become both! it's called maritime officer, engineer and bridge officer.

  • What sailors union are you a member of?

  • @Mistafixa101 No, you have to speak English to work at Maersk

  • @petergriffin422 You check on your radar's what the other vessels around you are doing. Checking your position, so you don't collide with an island.

And some other stuff, like weather observation's, keeping contact with the shore company etc.

  • @prasat1000 The training at school covers both nautical and technical.

  • @AtomicCheese92 , it's possible and it's called a Maritime Officer. It's used in holland for over 25 years now.
