Video Master Degree Thesis in Computer Science at University of Trento - Using Kinect to emulate an Interactive Whiteboard
I based my implementation on the awesome library SimpleOpenNI http://code.google.com/p/simple-openni/. It's a Processing (language derived from Java) wrapper on the famous frameworks OpenNI and NITE. I integrated the Processing code (since Processing is derived from Java, you can easily integrate it) inside a more complex Java project where I implemented the calibration phase that you see in this video and the finger calibration procedure. The result is this emualtion of an Interactive Whiteboard. The click for the moment is perfomed using a mouse with the other hand, but in the future maybe we can try to eliminate completely the use of any kind of device.
