Sha Rene' a singer/songwriter who is famous for her 12" dance single, "I'm Good for You" in the late 80's combines her music and Spoken Word Poetry in her new CD. Like Prince coined the phrase, MUSICOLOGY, Sha Rene's project is called, "MUSICOETRY." The words are from her poems in her new book, "Words Can Explain." Sha Rene' loves that Jill Scott did a poetry book. Sha Rene' recommends her book.

"GARDEN OF EVIL"

Garden of Evil son of man
Sing to the mountain tops
Oh take my hand
Praise to the ages
Of kings that could be
If you could make me
Your Black woman
The queen I should be
Sing of a needle
Not from a sewing stitch
Make sure it's the right time
To call me your cliché
Talk to your sons
To make them a man
Don't lose Respect
For the Black Woman I am
Tie your Bow tie
Your shoe lace
Your cross
Make sure they tell you
That you are the boss
Don't lose it chile
It's worth more than you
For God is now angry
With the drugs that you do
Don't blame me your Sista'
for preaching the cause
'Cause I am Black woman
Without me
You're lost
Garden of Evil
Please don't take my away my king
'Cause I am here standing
Expecting a ring
I see my White sistas
Dancing a dream
And I am Black woman
That's all that it seems
Don't give my brother
Toys, gifts, clothes
Shoes for his feet
Let him work, slave
Deserve to have his family eat
Don't blame my father
For walking away
Black man wake up
Today's a new day
Garden of Evil
Makes my man feel weak
So he hustles
And kills
And lives in the street
Where is my model
My upward mobility
My Lover, my friend
My peace, tranquility?
Yes I am Black woman
Working hard from day to day
That is no reason
For you to walk away
Don't be afraid that I might pass you
'Cause I got A's and B's
It's only your fault
That you only got C's
But I do not blame you
Not you alone
'Cause you did not get this way
All on your own
With the help
of the Garden of Evil
Yet in the midst of your reach
Yes, I am Black woman
and I am here to teach you
Black man
To stay out of
The Garden
For there is no fruit
For you to bear
Please don't resent me
'Cause I get somewhere
