All trumpet players need to listen to his sound. This is trumpet playing. What fire. He commands that you listen just by playing the trumpet . He plays from his soul not the head.

Mel was a true master. I'll never forget the sound of his playing of the Parsifal excerpt: it's one of the reasons I'm still playing the trumpet so many decades later!
