My father was sent to this prison in 1961 BY Fidel Castro because he refused to become a member of the Communist party. He served a total of 16 years in jails like these & I hope one day I can visit as a free country.
Today thousands are sent to prisons in Cuba because they speak against the government, there is NO freedom of speech... this simple online comment would lead to prison if any of us was in the island.

Thanks for the tour but ur descriptions misguiding, there were no prisoners killing each other.. In Cuba the only enemy the political prisoner has is the government thats why they r "political" prisoners, those who disagree with castro r sent to prison.. He owns the island, brainwashes ppl and controls everything.. Dictatorship style.. And those against it get sent to prison.
There is no constitution in Cuba.. Castro and his puppets say the last word... No human rights .. Pretty much like get w

Hi Hector,
To clarify, the prison tour guide said this, and it may be the government's version of what happened, which is obviously different than your own experience.
Thanks for posting your comment because it's important for us to ultimately know the truth. If you know anyone else who was at La Isla de Pinos during WWII, please encourage them to share their thoughts here, in either English or Spanish. Thanks!
