Sri Lanka Orphanage Foundation

This Foundation was established after the Tsunami to provide a loving and trusting environment for orphaned children which enables them to grow up and develop into healthy, responsible and educated members of the community.

Together with the care-mothers and a dedicated staff the children will have a chance to grow up in a large family community with respect for Buddhism and their Sri Lankan culture and roots.

Goals
Our common aim is to create a safe community where orphaned children live together in harmony. The aim is to not only offer basic needs as food and a roof over their heads, but to provide these children apart from their regular school training with different on-site facilities to improve their future chances in life.
The after-school education includes learning to read, write and speak in English, computer lessons, vocational skills, dance and music classes ( to help overcome their traumatic experiences), hygiene, nursing etc. Children from the surrounding villages can participate in the educational programs.

Long-term objectives:
-150 in-home children in full custody
-150 foster children
-50 caremothers
