And I suppose this is true whether the baby weighed 4lbs 10 oz or 10 lbs 9oz at birth?

My child weighed 18 pounds at 4 months old. He was completely normal and still is a completely normal child. He's not fat or anything, he was just big when he was born. He leveled out at about 1 year old, but he's still taller than most kids his age. 17 pounds at 4 months out isn't fat. This is ridiculous.

that kid looks fine to me. my son has always been under in weight and height and he sure can eat.. all kids are built differently and it all has to to with whats in the genes

This insurance company sucks! My baby is over 18 pounds and is just 4 months old. I have Kaiser Permanente and they cover him!

Those charts for weight are based on formula-fed infants. Breast-fed infants ate normally a bit heavier but it all evens out once they begin to walk. My son is 12 now and a normal weight and at age 4 months was 16 pounds.

My son was 19 pounds and 27 inches at 4 months O_o.
He's in perfect health.

Man oh man the mom looks completely wiped. Like she's still recovering from birthing that giant baby.

"Cardiopulmonary adaptation in large for gestational age infants of diabetic and nondiabetic mothers"

Yea, cause you went to 4 years of medical school and3-5 years of residency to understand that chart. And for example, a diabetic mother that gave birth to a overweight baby can have a infant with a left-to-right shut. Which is a serious type of heart defect that is due to the babies weight.

Unlike you, I was not born yesterday and I realize that the government is always trying to raise taxes. It has been since the founding of this country and people like you bleed from the heart to give up liberty and civil rights for some transient security and safety. The system in this case worked, they fought the system and received insurance for their baby. Freedom is neither comfortable nor safe and you must fight. NOT HAVE THE GOVERNMENT DO IT FOR YOU.
let's deny insurance companies air - let's see what happens

But whether your at risk is all luck
Lucky you, you werent born with a high risk of disease and parents barely or unable to afford to pay themselves for everything.
Be grateful and just admit you simply dont care about others bad luck that was not their fault.
Then know why your kind will lose as time goes on and why your kind has lost around the world.
Most of us know it could happen to our children or could have happened to us.
