Throughout this video we'll take you through the entire process on how to create guitar cab impulses. We'll answer a question that we've received from several viewers regarding the latency when using the M-Audio Fast Track Pro interface. Lastly we'll take you into Reaper and show you how to quantize audio tracks using Reaper's time stretch feature. Enjoy!

  • you need to leave the fucking chairs and do step by step the things you are talking about.you are so lazy and bored but you can improve

  • Of course you would need an amplifier to amplify the signal before it goes through the cabinet so I guess you could just use the effect loop anyway :P

  • Why not insert the sine sweep direct to the cabinet instead of the effect loop? Some amps may have components in the effect loop and after it that may effect the sound of the sine sweep. Am I not right or am I missing something?

  • From my experience you can capture a more usable guitar cab impulse utilizing pink noise rather than a sine sweep. When i tried sine sweeps they tended to have an obvious harshness on the high end. That was only with close mic'ing though. Sine sweeps work well for distant mic'ing/room impulses.

I've created a whole heap of free quality Mesa OS cab impulses (over 700, actually). Just search "god's cab" on google or youtube. You might find them useful!

  • dude where did u learn all this ...is there a site that u can go on to learn about how to create gd recordings particuarly for metal cause i used to spend time moving around mics on crappy amps and getting a listenable result but far from pro standard or i would learn about eq or mastering plugins and jus shove on any setting that sounding gd rather than researching and utilizing different recording technology and resources

  • jesus likes metallica

  • Great vid guys !

  • Thanks for the Impulse info.
