@camon21100 I think the question was , "who did he fought?" A fight is over 12 rounds not 11, tough decision if it should have been stopped. But you and i werent in the ring Steele was. And yes Chavez vs Pernell was probobly a draw. But you are saying that he was a overated fighter who fought bums, wich he wasnt. He fought the best the division had to offer. and beat almost everyone.

Tszyu was a good fighter, but he lost in his prime by KO or TKO to "Cool" Vince Philips. Then quit on his stool in his last fight. Chavez, way past his prime here, still did okay to start and would have chewed Tsyzu up and spit him in 1989.

Chavez was 8 or 9 year removed from his prime here at 38 or 39 years. This fight means nothing. If it does mean something then so does Tszyu's loss to Ricky Hatton 5 years later. When Tszyu quit on his stool to an inferior fighter in Ricky Hatton.

@camon21100 Taylor didn't "school" Chavez, somebody fucked Taylor up on St. Patrick's Day 1990 and it wasn't booze or Richard Steele, it was and unrelenting pressure and will of JCC. JCC never gave up, even after a 12 round beating. But, Chavez was the Physically tougher of the two and hit harder. "Taylor was landing more, but Chavez was landing the more hurtful punches and ultimately that was going to tell the tale".

@camon21100 You do realize RIchard Steele took two points away from Chavez for low-blows against Randell, in effect causing Chavez to lose by a point. People have short memories when it comes to that. Remember this, Richard Steele let Meldrick Taylor get away with a ton of low-blows against Chavez. As Taylor said he planned on hitting Chavez on the hip, because it was a punch he believed he could get away with hitting Chavez with them.
