Senator Byrd's famous "DEEP, DEEP, DEEP" speech given when he spotted provisions for huge expansions in the off-shoring facilitator visas hidden deep in another bill. (non-immigrant visas: H1B, L1, etc.)

These visas have been designed to allow the American corporations to replace their workforce with cheaper and more docile workers from abroad. (e.g. willing to long days, sometimes seven days a week.)

Youtube comment police came by and deleted the comments, again!
One piece of information learned was this person fighting for America's best jobs had a less than colorful start; in fact one could say he had a colorless start steeped in White Supremacist ignorance. Not as in fool, but as in that which is the natural result of a mis-educated start in life.

Those that cherry picked the Bell Curve "research", but sometimes leave off the fact that Asians, not Caucasians scored highest.
The bottom line to me is that this man clearly stood against the ruling classes in this battle, and based on his speeches against animal cruelty seems to have had a heart after all. Let's hope the holes in his education about people of color also were plugged by the best educator of life: experience.

  • What a good Senator! I love his mannerisms.

  • immigration moratorium NOW!!

  • I could not agree more. We'll see. Either way it is going to stop it just may take some of these thick skulled politicians a while to catch on. There is no successful long term model for this type of behavior. Thanks for your response, love reading your stuff.

  • I think the current financial crisis is a direct result of the curmbling of the American middle class and its tax base by programs like the Bush tax cuts for foreign profits and cheap labor programs like H1B. The question is: does Obama understand that and willing to do what is necessary to fix it: tax cuts, tight labor market - depart visa overstayer and kill H1B/L1 as cheap labor programs?

  • Excellent points! Yes, and it is sickening that the US Government is actively working against its own citizens. How do they think they will sustain their tax base?

  • True, north America isn't over-populated like China or India yet, but globalization and outsourcing and automation are causing a dramatic loss of jobs to sustain the current population - about -660K jobs per month over the last year. Every year 1.2 to 1.4 million new permanent residents come to the US - that more that Russia and EU combined; with no new jobs and only losses, it is unreasonable that immigration can continue at the current rate without massive hardships.

  • Big business keeps pushing for it though to replace American workers. I understand what you are seeing but I see the problem as greed. For our land mass there really in not that many people, I have been in much more densly populated countries. There seems to be this really pervasive notion of love others and hate self-at the expense of a nation and its economy. Thanks for your comment/response :)

  • You might argue that the Decline and Fall of the American(International Captial Markets) has occured already. Rome fell, Italy is still here; what will be left of the US?

  • There just isnt much panic about it in DC. The problem is basicly biological; there are too many people in the US. The answer is to slam the door on immigration and visa; my fear is that when they acknowlege it, it will be too late.

  • Yes, if you take a look at Roman history its all been done a very long time ago.

They used slaves instead of 'Offshoring'; in other words the mathematical inverse of the tactic used to crash the eqully corrupted Roman Republic.

Curiously, this is not as easy to research as it once was, but it IS middle school social studies. Online Gibbons references has it buried deep DEEP DEEEP. ;)
