We bought the Load-A-Pup so our dogs could get into our boat (Four Winns Horizon 170) on their own. The platform connects to the entry ladder on the back of the boat. We paid $90 for the Load-A-Pup and I give it a 9/10. I would give it a 10 but it can wobble if the dogs try to enter from the sides. However, this wobbling can be counteracted by tightening the included straps and tying the excess strap to make it even tighter.
In addition to the connection straps included, I always tie an additional line between the load-a-pup and a cleat on the boat, just as a backup backup in case the load-a-pup comes loose. It's all metal and would sink like a rock.
Our Golden Retrievers really love being able to get into the boat on their own. Before, I had to pull them in, which was difficult and ripped their life-vests.
This video is from East Fork Lake in Southwest Ohio.
I am not associated with Load-A-Pup, this is just a real-life review if you're considering the product: http://boatingdog.com/
Great video! I have a load-a-pup too and it's worth it's weight in gold! My pooch is 113 pounds and hauling him in the boat is nearly impossible. I wish the Load-a-pup were a tad bit longer for the bigger dogs.... I saw yours struggling a bit to get the back legs on it... just like mine does. But overall a great addition to my boat.
