  • he said, hes using s-video cable and connected it directly to his pc, not on hdtv, i gotta have that cable too, i can order it on ebay maybe? ^_^

  • @heavengalvez

idk he said he was playing with S-video, but I wouldn't know the difference lol. I know the s-video is a LOT sharper than AV cables.

  • @VentusXII ooooh hes playing it on pc, not on hdtv coz i played so3 on my hdtv, it looks blurry and the picture looks old

  • @heavengalvez

S-video can only handle resolutions up to 480i, whereas Component can handle up to 1080p.

However, that's not so important for a PS2 game (which only goes up to 480p, unless you're playing on a PS3), as there won't be a huge difference between 480i (w/S-video) footage vs 480p. Also, there are fewer capture devices out there that have Component inputs, and even fewer still that actually capture HD resolutions (and those tend to be much more expensive).

  • @Wolfwood824 whats the best cable for you, s-video or component cables?

  • @VentusXII

Read my response to heavengalvez. =)

  • @Wolfwood824

Sharper settings on your TV then? I've never seen an NTSC/U copy of SO3 look like this...

  • @heavengalvez

Typically, when people record gameplay footage like this, they use a device (a Dazzle DVD Recorder, in my case) that lets them connect their console directly to their PC so they can capture it with a program like VirtualDub. The TV they play on wouldn't be relevant unless they're using a camera, in which case the quality tends to be rather poor.

The likely reason for the enhanced sharpness is that I used S-Video cables instead of Composite (the basic yellow-ended one).

  • @VentusXII

I'm from the US, so no, I'm not playing the PAL version. =P

  • @heavengalvez The picture is sharp, yes. On my HDTV, SO3 never looked like this; I think it's because he isplaying on PAL instead of NTSC.
