  • People singing together can be divided into two distinct groups: soloists singing together as in opera and groups who exclusively sing together. Usually each are singing very distinct styles of music but there can be some cross-over as in this song.

These guys are soloists each retaining their distinctive resonance and vibrato. This produces a different sound to a choral group or quartet who sing with minimal or no vibrato and suppress resonance to create a more tightly blended sound.

  • beautiful song!

It is actually a song that takes place in Missouri about a fur trader who falls in love with Chief Shenandoah's daugher. That's why the lyrics have the singer telling Shenandoah he loves his daughter and he plans to take her across the Missouri River to start a life with her.
