What did you boot into? I tried winPE 7 and everything worked except when I try to run winnt it wasn't recognized. I tried running setup.exe which worked, but the install windows option was greyed out.

yeah I tried following the guide but I was having problems setting it up. the Server interfaces IP is locked to my wireless gateway IP and it wouldn't let me change it.

Don't know what the problem is. Maybe something with YouTube, either way I suggest you look at the guide I mentioned below.

My recommendation is to use this guide "How to Install Vista on a M200 Without a CD Drive Using TFTP" (search for it on google).
It should work on most systems and it's much easier to use.

what version of vmware are you using and how is vmware working when you are not even logged onto windows?

I believe I used vmware 5 for this demo.
And why wouldn't it work? The hardware, albeit virtual, is still there.

XP doesn't need FDisk, you can use Windows XP installer to create partitions.
