  • He's way too good for korn. But hey, it's easy money, so good on him.

  • This guy understands rythym.

You gotta get his instructional, it's unbelievable.

  • @bobangel87 Lets see some videos of your "shredding" skills bro. Cause i bet they are boring. I'll agree with you. Scales are simply a means to an end. If you want to play them fine. if you dont, fine. Many great players who blow this guy away have mastered all sorts of scales and theory. I bet they find plenty of passion and soul in their playing and do not regret the work they have put into it. That is why you and I are sitting on a computer and other people are out there living the dream.

  • @bobangel87 I'm a metal player and i think korn sounds like shit. I know many players and it is pretty unanimous that korn sucks haha. They even screwed up covers of metallica.

  • So happy to have met shane in des moines, iowa. One of music's true talents and he's is a true class act. Thanks for getting my wife and I backstage on such short notice. Great video and I'm happy as hell you are playing for one my favorite bands.

  • Your right I just happened to watch this video and did tons of research to make a comment???! I'm a musician. I'm not name droppin shredders, bite your tongue when u say that, via an petrucci r not shredders! Name droppin cacophony???? Ha that's just funny , most people don't even know what that is! I'll agree bout the music business and maybe the korn statement was a little strong but I stand by my original opinion. I respect shredding and lived for it when I was younger but it gets redundant

  • @bobangel87 90% business knowledge and 10% musical ability: that's what it takes to be successful in the "music" industry. That's always the case. Record sales don't make you a musician. And you can't deny that Ducksinapond is a beautiful instrumental.

  • @bobangel87 Nope, bullshit. I know playing in the style of Korn is boring. I've been in a band like that before. I quit because it wasn't me. Playing and/or listening to boring and groove oriented stuff all the time gets old REAL quick. Now I know for a fact that you're just name dropping shredders for the sake of winning an argument. There is no difference between Bieber and Korn. They both got huge by being business oriented.

  • @bobangel87 Now THAT'S closed minded thinking. How do you know that any real metal musician can't just pull that kind of stuff out of their ass as a joke?

  • @EvisceratorBand Korn wrote their music, Bieber didnt, thats a big difference. IF your a metal player and deny that Korn has some good rhythms then your lieing.

  • @EvisceratorBand I can play arpeggios and "shred". First few years of playing thats all I did. I played scales with a metronome for hours a day and technically it made me a better player but its boring as fuck and Im sorry but i hear a tons of that in Shane Gibson.

  • @bobangel87 Oh there we go again with the "They've sold a lot, so they must be good," bullshit. I guess Justin Beiber is hella talented too, right?
